The cultural and creative industries are characterized by their fragmentation into a large number of small entities. 95% of all actors are micro-entities with up to nine employees, primarily individuals. Given the rapid development of CCIs in recent years, their fragmentation, and the poor quality of national-level data, it is difficult to gain a clear overview of the sector's structure. This subsequently limits the strategic development of CCIs not only in Prague but throughout the entire Czech Republic.
The Ministry of Culture's initiative aimed to support the regional strategic development of CCIs during 2023–2024. The first phase involved analyzing data obtained in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the Czech Statistical Office.
The Strategy for the Development of Cultural and Creative Industries in Prague is currently being developed through a participatory approach. The goal is to embed CCIs within Prague's strategic framework and develop them in connection with business, innovation, sustainability, urban development, foreign relations, and tourism.
